Mike comes from a carpentry background and has worked in various roles in the construction industry over the last 20 years. He started out labouring both as a teenager and during University holidays, where he studied Maritime Operations Management. He then worked in utilities, overseeing large steel framing projects as a Site Manager. His focus now is carrying out structural building works and commercial and domestic renovations. Mike enjoys being on site in his role as ‘hands on’ Site Manager but also benefits from his experience and knowledge of project management to keep projects on track. Mike has been running his own company for the past ten years.

Mike loves the challenges that different projects throw up and is a great problem solver. “Even the most organised and planned project will encounter some ‘challenges’. I enjoy being adaptable to change and finding solutions – whether I’m looking for different materials to use or finding a new approach – this is what keeps me interested.” Mike believes in good communication with his team, suppliers and, of course, clients to make sure projects run smoothly.

Mike is a devoted waterman and when not at work can usually be found in, or on, the water either sailing, surfing, windsurfing or paddle boarding.

Matt started out 30 years ago in an apprenticeship as a plasterer. Over the years, Matt has considerably expanded his skillset across the construction phase and has developed a keen interest in sustainable building practices. And while he is still more than willing and able to pick up the tools when necessary, his passion now lies with successful project management. He has been running his own business for the best part of his professional life.

Matt believes a successful project all comes down to the experience of the consumer. “A restaurant may serve fantastic food but if the service wasn’t right then the experience is tainted and the lasting memory of that experience is bad. Building work is no different to that. My job satisfaction comes from happy clients.”

Matt is keen on personal development and along the way has picked up a BA hons in Media Production and a certificate in Project Management from RICS. In a previous life (before having a child) Matt enjoyed travel and making electronic music.
